Never too young...

So, with the Big Girl's birthday party behind us, it was time to start writing thank you cards for all the fabulous gifts she received.

I wanted to get her personalized stationery, because no one is too young to have their own stationery!

I have always had a love affair with stationery.

I'm not sure what sparked it, but seeing my name on a fabulously pink thank you card just makes me happy!

I also love the fact that you put a thank you note into an envelope and then proceed to put something that most children have never heard of.....a stamp!

I love technology, I'm not one of those people who refuse to write their term papers on a computer instead opting for a typewriter (and yes, those people do exist).

I'm a facebook/twitter junkie, and of course I love blogging. Don't even get me going on my obsessions with google and online shopping....I digress...

Anyways, I do feel something as simple as polite human interaction is lacking.

I'm guilty. There are times when I find myself just wanting to send a text message instead of actually 'talking' to someone on the phone, or days when I actually long for the pre-recorded press this number if you want... phone call rather than dealing with 12 different people on the line to get an answer to one question.

Guilty as charged.

However, being a History major in college, and being the dork that loved going to the archive department to sift through old correspondences or newspaper clipping, I'm here to tell you the written word is dying.

I wonder how hundreds of years from now, people will be able to study us? I guess from our tweets, and our blogs!

Anyways, I love Thank You cards, they are just simple, and for me, I think the art of handwriting one's gratitude is a lost one. So, yes, even my 2 year old gets her own personalized stationery so she..uhh I mean, I can write a thank you card for her. I let her scribble on it as well, it's her 'signature'...cute huh?

Anyways, I stumbled upon Amy Adele..

umm obsessed!

I ordered the Happy Daisy style, and when it arrived, it was so beautiful.

They also have twin style ones :)

They arrived much quicker than the expected 7-10 days, and they were displayed in the cutest white meshy type of tie bag. To top it off, Amy herself, sent me.....you guessed it, a thank you card for choosing her products!

Is that good business of what?

If you're looking for great stationery check her out, please, please, please, I know you will love her products as much as I do! And no, I'm not getting paid in any way shape or form for recommending her, or for any of the things I recommend on my blog :)

So, you can be sure when I recommend something it's because I really love it!

and I really love Amy Adele's Stationery!

A Good Cause

There are so many amazing charities out there, and sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming if you find yourself searching for great organizations to volunteer or donate to.

6 degrees, is this really great site where you can search organizations based on their location and/or cause.

In our household we obviously have a lot of babies! So, we tend to lean towards charities and organizations that have to do with helping kids.

St. Jude is a big one. What an amazing organization, a hospital, a research facility, and more importantly NO child is turned away. We love giving to St. Jude, because we love everything about what they do.

Since having the twins, I've been especially interested in doing things to help out with March of Dimes, and getting involved in our hospital's NICU, even if it's just bringing sweets to the fabulous nurses there!

In my search, I stumbled upon a really great organization right here in Richmond.

With 3 kids in diapers I know how expensive it is to buy diapers. Luckily I don't have to make a choice between feeding my kids or diapering them....but some people do.

Capital Diaper Bank provides Diapers to these types of families.

It's shocking to think that some kids sit in a dirty diaper all day or longer, or that sometime families re-use soiled disposable diapers because they can't afford buying new ones.

Anyways, I loved finding this organization because I have a stock pile of packs of diapers that the twins never even got a chance to get in ( advice, don't buy a bunch of preemie or newborn diapers, because they don't stay in them long)!

They of course take monetary donations as well.

So take some time to do some searching, and do some good out there!

Check her out

I had to feature a post from this amazing blog I found today...

Apparently, she has been getting some flack for being a SAHM and loving it. From what I've read on her blog, she loves being a SAHM, and believes it is something she was always meant to be. This doesn't offend me, but apparently it does offend some momma's out there who choose to work. I always say, it's a personal choice, what's right and what works for one family, simply may not work for another. From what I can see (or read) Mrs. Foreste seems to believe the same way. But either there are women out there, who misinterpret what she writes, or women who simply love to hate on women who choose to stay home as opposed to get a career.

It's 2010 people! Women can do ANYTHING! I have to give major props to the women out there who are Doctors, and CEO's, or who are working multiple jobs perhaps out of necessity and not choice, just as I give props to all the SAHM's out there! As women, and as mothers, we should all be rooting for each other!

Anyways, I loved reading her post, and I think she delivered a brilliant response!

Read her post...what do you think?
